The Harlot's Hero by Tabetha Waite

3.0

2.5 Stars.

I read this story as part of the Brazen Belles Anthology, and it was an average read at best.

The story had potential, with the heroine being a courtesan, and the hero being an illegitimate son of the King. I wish that would have been discussed a bit more. Their life perspectives could have been very interesting plot points, but neither of their statuses informed any aspects of their personality. If you didn't tell me Hunter king's son the story would not be any different. And I wish Persephone was a bit more bold, and independent. I mean she grew up in a brothel, she must have SOME street smarts.

I wish we would have been able to read one of the letters they sent to each other over the years. We could have seen a bit more of their personalities, and seems like that is how they fell in love with each other, so the romance would have been a bit more believable.
