How's does each book in the Savage universe get better? I was not prepared to fall in love with Amir Vasquez, especially not after reading all the shit he did to Helen, but man, I totally did.
Amir is an incredibly smart junior at Savage U. He's also a drug dealer for his brother. Not because he wants to be, but because he's loyal and promised to work for him until he graduated.
Zadie is roommates with Elena and Helen. She's described as stop you in your tracks pretty, but takes a lot of shit for being plus size. She's also sweet as can be.
Amir and Zadie meet when he holds her hostage in Helen's book. Things happen between them but they both say careless things and Amir leaves with no further contact. This book opens with Zadie going to a party with a guy to try to catch Amir's eye. Things don't quite go according to plan and she ends up as Amir's "pet".
There's so many things about this book I loved. Amir and Zadie are so different but so perfect for each other. She brought out his soft and he gave her the confidence she needed to learn to be brave. And the epilogue? Yeah, I cried.
