Ghosts of Greenglass House
by Kate Milford
When I started this book, I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it, and it did take me a bit to really get into it, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. Once again I love the returning characters , and of course Milo and Meddy; the smile on my face when Meddy showed up again- you could really feel her absence in the beginning. As with the last book, the central mystery was engaging (though with quite a bit more twists and turns) and the atmosphere of the world was very charming. (love the folklore aspects!) Again the themes of using fantasy to gain confidence and control in real life, but also knowing when to express emotion, were very well written. And of course I will say it wasn't quite as good as the first book, but I have read that one 3 times at this point so that is not quite a fair comparison. I'm very happy I finally gave this a chance, and I was certainly not disappointed.
