There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension by Hanif Abdurraqib
reflective
medium-paced
4.5
This was thought provoking and moving.
I appreciated all the hometown love and all the basketball. I’ve never been to Ohio and I have no affinity for the place, but I know what it means to love and miss your hometown. Also, as a kid who played basketball and loved basketball all my life, I appreciate how the author tied aspects of the game to life.
This book made me want to write nonfiction again. It’s been a long time since I’ve had that desire. So I’m grateful for that.
