Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus, Volume 1 by Christopher Golden, Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, Paul Lee, Joss Whedon, Dan Brereton

3.5

Maybe I'm getting more generous and easy-to-please, but I enjoyed this more than I seemed to last time. Yes, none of it was groundbreaking, but it was fun as a pre-sleeping collection to flick through in bed. Putting it up from 3 stars to 3.5.

Original review, Dec 2018

As with all collections, it's hard to review this because the quality is very hit and miss.

Most of the stories here are 3-stars; I didn't find them overly engaging or exciting, none of the stories particularly grabbed me. However, the origin story was wonderful, and was the definite highlight for me, the only part that really grabbed me the same way the show did. So 4.5 stars for that one, 3 stars for the rest of it, and I think as a whole collection the book deserves 3 stars.

I'm intrigued to read the rest of the omnibus collection and see whether the comics set during the show are more enjoyable than these.
