I feel like book 2 was more driven towards the romantic subplots of the story and I guess that’s why many people would have mixed reviews towards this one, but I still loved it just as much as the first. I’m starting to think that it could had definitely have more “push” to it. Jennifer Lynn Barnes is definitely a genius for creating all these fun tricks and puzzles, but I feel like if there was more to her writing the overall outcome of this book would have definitely been over the top incredible. I also felt that some of her characters felt a little dense, like there was not much to them and a lot of them could use some more pinches of personality. Also, the love triangle in this book got me falling for Mr. Second Best (crying). Can’t wait to read the last book!
