Princess Lia chose to run away with her friend Pauline after she found out that she is arranged to be married to a Prince. They both worked at a small town, serving soldiers and other people. She met Rafe and Kaden who they grew close to. She also got betrayed by one of these men and captivated her.

Rafe is the Prince and they are soooo good together
This book ended on a cliffhanger, with Rafe sacrificing so he could be with her when she got captivated. I wanna read the 2nd book right away but I am listening to this as an audiobook to fully grasp the story and I am kinda tired of listening to audiobooks. I know I'm gonna finish this series before reading the dance of thieves duology (which is the sole reason I started this)
