Don't be put off by the title and cover design; Kampusch writes with graceful clarity, insistent upon the depth and complexity of her own experience even while dismissing sensationalism and her readers' expected voyeurism. This is an astoundingly well-executed memoir, and her voice is powerful and persuasive.
