The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans
5.0

This was a very cute, entertaining and middle grade like adventure. It was simple but an enchanting ride. The narrator was also pleasant to listen to. Sure, the writing was not complex but the characters and the story were the heart of the book. Michael vey reminds me of nick from the chronicles of nick and percy jackson. I guess sarcastic troubled teenage boys is a middle grade trope. But the trope works. You automatically love them and want to protect them. And I love how they all love their mothers. Yes respect women. We stan men who worship their mothers.

I don't know if the story is all that fast paced, it did take a bit to get to the action but the audiobook made it so I could speed it up, which was nice. Because chronicling High-school/middle school days for several chapters...isn't that thrilling. But once a main thing happened, that is indeed when it picked yp.

This story also showed how young minds can be very influenced by the smallest things. It is almost scary...

I also love the undertones of found family and loyalty in this novel. You lead by love and devotion, not by fear and control.
