Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

5.0

Wow. What a read. As a notoriously slow reader, 9 days is absolutely FLYING through a book for me. Hail Mary is sci-fi at its peak. The plot is clever, frightening, and plausible. I’m an engineer so I loved all of the scientific jargon and lab experiments. The characters are excellent. Grace and Rocky are the cutest intergalactic best friends of all time. The structure of the book, current events interspersed with flashbacks to help Grace recover from his amnesia, is really well done. The dips, turns, peaks, and valleys of Hail Mary made me laugh, cry, gasp, scowl, and much more. And to cap it all off, a thoroughly satisfying ending that left me with a smile as I closed the back cover.
