The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

I mean, on one hand, I read this in three days! That is awfully quick for such a big book. However, I will say that this was a bit of a weaker book. The Nike subplot was a little weak, and there was a definite lack of POVs from other characters. I like that we got Nico and Reyna's POV, but both could have used more screen-time to properly flesh out. With the seven, we only got a return to Piper, Leo and Jason. While Piper was much more enjoyable in this work, and the romance was definitly dialed down, I wished we saw more of Frank, Hazel, Percy and Annabeth, as they felt hardly relevant in this book. I think, and that is my personal opinion, they should've cut the story in two. I would focus on book on the seven, up until the awakening of Gaia, and then focus the second book Nico, Reyna, and maybe one or two POVs from the seven, where we cover the the travel of the statue and the battle of the camp. I think that might be the biggest thing; the battles were very anti-climatic. All the giants were just slayed because the gods finally showed up, and the battle at Camp  Half-Blood ended in a blink of an eye. Comparing this to The Last Olympian, it was a definite let-down. I do adore Nico and Reyna's sibling-like relationship, but I wish that they would've had more screen-time and time to build their relationship.
