Four Found Dead by Natalie D. Richards
1.0
the way i speed-read through this boring schlock surprised even me. but hey, i wanna hit my book goal for the year!
four found dead is going on my shame-shelf along with theme music and near the bone and clown in a cornfield. this book had me duped and hoodwinked. the first chapter is so tense and interesting and then it all falls apart.
the killer is revealed essentially right away and his mysterious motivation is pretty predictable, even if unbelievable (no because why did he just start killing people? like actually? to…*checks notes* run away with a teenager? and was he always planning on that? why did he bring the gun to work?). and my god the repetition in the book drove me to madness. if i had to read ONE MORE FUCKING TIME about bells jingling over the door and plastic lighters and a dirty gas station floor and “are we in big trouble” i was gunna snap like the killer in this book. WE GET IT. WE. GET. IT. holy fuck i kinda wanted to smack the author. even for YA this book is insulting to its reader for that aspect alone.
i hated this book and i’m mad i read it and i get even more mad when i see people rating it 4 or 5 stars.
