honestly i wasn't sure about this until close to the end, but i ended up really enjoying it. is it because i'm an anxious grief horror loving girlie with daddy issues? most likely. but that doesn't diminish the fact that nat cassidy seems to always write books that i connect with in some way, even when they're fucked up and weird beyond explanation. you can feel the way he writes his own experiences of loss and grief into his work, and he's very vulnerable and open about it and i respect that.
