The God of Small Things
by Arundhati Roy
As a typical YA Fantasy lover who reads to escape reality, this story brought history and politics into view and I was definitely out of my comfort zone, which can and was a good thing.
Overall the story was good, however, there were definitely times where I was confused and was trying to figure out where the story was going as the author did not write in a linear fashion rather jumping from past to present and different characters perspectives making this a slower read for me.
Jumping into the history of people to explain their actions and behaviors provided extra depth to an already chilling story that really drives the story home.
