Michael Mcintyre Autobiography
by Michael McIntyre
Michael McIntyre
I read Life and Laughing looking for a laugh from my favourite comedian and I found exactly this and more. It had just the right balance of hilarity and sensitive moments. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Michael McIntyre and learning more about him and his life by way of reading. Simply a wonderful comedy where Mcintyre's personality truly shone through the pages, I found myself reading it with his voice in my head. I couldn't stop reading and laughing.
I have to commend McIntyre on his honesty and the amount of information he shared with us. Learning the exhausting and incredibly taxing way he got into comedy, leaves me with no doubt of how much McIntyre delights in what he does and his can do attitude in order to reach his goal. Also proving that hard work really does pay off; going from not a single ticket sold to selling out tour dates, releasing two DVDs and having a book published. Simply inspiring and uplifting. Reading of his father's death had me in tears and his naturally funny accounts of daily life had me laughing my head off (I got many a strange look). It is also written extremely well for someone who isn't a writer (I'm thinking he must have had some help here?)
Overall, 'Life and Laughing' has every aspect needed to make a great book. To quote Michael from the book; he is now definitely 'a Marks & Spencer smoked salmon parcel.' Just like he longed to be.
