The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent

FINALLY A GOOD FANTASY BOOK!!!

I was immediately intrigued by this world and the characters. I honestly don't know what else to say other than this had SUCH a good fantasy aspect. At the end of the day, fantasy books with a romance subplot are my favourite and this hit the spot.

The only bone I have to pick with this book is the chemistry fell short... I didn't feel like Oraya liked Raihn as much as he liked her. His character and feeling development throughout the book was SO GOOD, but I felt like Oraya jumped from hating him to liking him. Still love them both, but I feel like one-day Oraya just woke up and thought he was attractive. There is still definitely a slow burn and I love them both regardless. And the ending is so worth it.

Ok, one last thing - I feel like the ending was a tad rushed. I took a break from reading this book at the 80% mark and I think that screwed me other. I was a bit confused coming back to the story and then so many things happened all at once. I don't think it had the shock factor that was intended.

Regardless, I still loved this!!! Perfect for those who love fantasy, but still want some enemies-to-lovers action ;) ALSO this title is so smart... Idk how it took me the whole book for it to click, but I love it <3
