everything about this book worked for me: the format of short chapters, the vignettes. the science fiction-esque elements were what i thought would turn me off but they ended up being so secondary and… this book was just everything. i can see why everyone has read it and said, “weird but wonderful.” and it made me cry & in the words of Hannah Vermeer: that’s gotta be an automatic five stars from me.
