The Pumpkin Spice Café
by Laurie Gilmore
I love a small town! And I specifically saved starting this series until the fall. What a great kick off to my October reads. It's light, easy, breezy and just fun. Fall vibes are vibin'. This story is a cozy romance set in a quaint small town with a semi-hermit farmer MMC and a reformed city girl turned inherited small shop owner for the FMC.
The story starts out with their meet cute being him just trying to deliver the weekly groceries and her thinking he's the one shit disturbing and keeping her up at night so they end up at some point doing a stake out and find the real culprit.Casper, the friendly ghost! Except it's not a ghost.
It's a white cat. Gotta love an animal sidekick with a punny name!
My one gripe for this book is the frequent mention of Logan's ex-girlfriend who shot him down at point of proposal. Ok, yes, this is traumatic for him but everyone harps on about it, even Jeanie at a point and it became a bit annoying. Move on. But I really enjoyed everything else. Excited to see what's in store for the other books.
