Charlotte's Web by E.B. White

5.0

I enjoyed this. It doesn’t matter what the intended age group of the book is, I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling throughout. Whether it is a story of friendship, or of loyalty or of hope or of many other positive outlook traits, no matter what the intended trait(s) to be conveyed, I was just enchanted with the storytelling itself.

On the lessons from the story itself, everyone lives all their life to find the one Charlotte, whether platonic or not. The one person you can rely on to help you without any sorts of expectations whatsoever. And when there are zero expectations on both sides of the equation, there’s tremendous value to be gained for both parties. Such a relationship is hard to come by and may take a lifetime to recognise.

The creativity and imagination was just something to behold. I sat and completed the story in one setting.

True the book may not be as long, but nevertheless, it’s just an appreciation to the writers ability to draw me into the story without being conscious of the time. And such books do come once in a while and make you happy all around. Sometimes you do need a book that makes you happy and nothing more. Whether the story was realistic, had hidden depictions are immaterial and of no consequence. One just wants to feel good and happy to have read a good story. Perhaps, this could also tie to an individual’s mood prior to picking a particular book. And my frame of mind prior to picking this was that of anxiety and nervousness and this book has done a good deal to calm me down and for that I will continue to praise it. I’m penning these words on the Internet just to remind myself of my frame of mind while having read it and I am most definitely glad to have read it.
