The world building and magic system are stunningly done. I really loved how the world was set up and the horror that surrounded women and how they were forced to wear magic suppressing collars once married.
I struggled with the characters motivations. I sort of thought I understood them yet by the end I felt like I didn’t fully understand why the characters were making certain decisions and how they navigated their relationships. Soooo I then also struggled with the plot. I did enjoy the writing and the points the book made so like I enjoyed a lot of it? Just not all.
Probs a me-problem in the end. If you like a magical world that feels a bit like a historical romance, and a headstrong heroine you just might enjoy this!
