While I didn't dislike this book, it did lose some of the appeal for me in the back half. I loved both Chloe and Red's characters and their relationship was sweet, but oof...the sex stuff was not for me. I'm not a prude by any stretch but there was just something so jarring and a little cringe-inducing about the sex here that made me just want to skim and get past it ASAP. It didn't seem to fit with either of their personalities or with the general tone of their relationship which also didn't endear me to it. That said, I really appreciated the chronic pain rep in Chloe, and I was rooting for her and Red, so there was still a lot to like about this novel.
Graphic: Chronic illness, Sexual content, and Toxic relationship
Moderate: Domestic abuse and Emotional abuse
Minor: Abandonment and Classism
