I don’t really understand the hype over this book. Yes, the authors writing style is good and the descriptions are beautiful but the book offers very little in terms of character and plot. The characters are annoying and unlikeable and is a story telling of Frank and Cleo, and their dysfunctional friends and lifestyle. Only characters I happily support are Santiago and Anders’ dog, Thor. However, I did enjoy the ending to the book and felt everything worked out well for Cleo and Frank.
