Armada by Ernest Cline

4.0

Based on reviews I had read, I went into Armada with low expectations. Ready Player One is one of my favorite books. I read it about 9 months ago (audio version) and thought there was finally enough time lapsed where my expectations for Armada wouldn't be so high. I was right.

Based on a friend telling me it was good and also my love for the narration by Wil Wheaton, I headed into Armada. I was very pleasantly surprised. Much shorter than Ready Player One, it was an easy and entertaining listen. I got through it in about three days, and I couldn't quit listening. It consumed me very quickly.

Lots of problems with this book for sure. But I was able to gloss over them and just keep listening and enjoy it for the entertainment it was providing. If you are on the fence about reading, just keep your expectations a little low and don't expect another Ready Player One, and I think you will be pleased.
