the characterization of Dawn felt like Freida just googled „stereotype of a high needs, low masking autistic person“ and just ran with it. As someone who is autistic, THIS was not what we meant, when we asked for representation. She was constantly infantilized and described as „weird“, „strange“, „odd“, and, my personal favorite „different“. Her obvious autism could have been such a fun stylistic device to drive the plot and the character development but here we are, I guess.
As for the rest of the book: incredibly predictable and DEFINITELY not what I am used to from Freida. Meh.
