Ecce Homo: How One Becomes What One Is
by Friedrich Nietzsche
challenging
informative
inspiring
reflective
slow-paced
Insane comeback after how terrible the Gay Science was!!
For one, Nietzsche offers surprisingly astute insight into the condition of woman — he is excellent at diagnosing the problem, even if his cures as misguided to the point of resembling medieval conjectures about miasma.

“Emancipation of women — is the instinctive hatred of the woman who has turned out ill.”
This is not at all incorrect, if by ill he means unable or unwilling to live within and fit into the patriarchal yoke. I like his analysis that “At bottom the emancipated are the anarchists in the world of the ‘eternal-womanly.’”
Finally I was able to appreciate why it’s important and impressive that someone could have said the anti-moralistic things Nietzsche has said. I may not agree with his ideas, but I’m very glad they were voiced so that morality may take a clearer path.
