Ninety-Nine Stories of God by Joy Williams

4.0

Strange. Hilarious. Thoughtful. Gloriously imagined. Joy Williams is unreal - one of the most ambitious and gripping authors I’ve read, maybe ever. I keep returning to this collection of surreal micro-fiction. At times it felt a little (or very) over my head, but I suspect it’s only because I try to pull these little stories apart. They’re best consumed as is, swallowed whole, like a little aperitif for life.
