The Cactus League by Emily Nemens

3.0

I don’t know much about baseball so this was an odd pick for me. I enjoyed the different perspectives and the interconnectedness of it all. The little recalls to other characters who we had already met was engaging. However, not all the characters/perspectives held the same weight or interest in the story. The female characters were probably the worst written. Fell back on stereotypes that felt very limiting (for all I know could be true in the baseball universe). Personally, I like to see how different perspectives conflict on the same event so I was still able to enjoy. There were a lot of local Arizona call-outs which is fun for anyone familiar with the area.
