idk... maybe i'm just not grimdark enough?
was craving a revenge book, but god would i have preferred one where i could root for the mc for even a single second. jorg genuinely has zero redeemable qualities- it is just rape murder gutting beheading with zero development on and on and on and on
i do enjoy following characters who do terrible things, but i guess i just prefer it when they're not this wholly insufferable. i saw a comment comparing this to asoiaf written from joffery's perspective, and, while yes there's plenty of differences with jorg having gone through more shit, i cannot think of a better comparison to describe how depraved and obnoxious jorg was
if this was what lawrence set out to do, as i am sure is the case, he was wildly successful. but it was just not for me
