Only Amo Jones could do this book this way. Of course, the writing is beautiful and lyrical, the story well paced and gripping, the character development believable and we'll structured throughout the whole book. This book gets emotions to the surface and some thoughts are intrigued.
The secret society 'trope' is one that's very hard to do, because the author needs to create a whole world with past and present, and it might be harder than fantasy world building, because it has to be believable, something that could happen in real life, and it also needs to be dark a cruel, but the characters need to stay human to an extent to be believable (and maybe relatable, at times).
The relationships are strong and the emotional are their, Priest and Luna were a rollercoaster, a beautiful and toxic journey interrupted by the complexities of their world (or worlds), lies and secrets.
     Artistically mad.
