Love Poems for Married People by John Kenney

2.0

A cute concept that portrays the lack of magic in long term relationships well in the first few poems, but turns depressing as it continues on.

I feel like this shouldn't have been a book. The original post at The New Yorker contains the best poems in this collection by far (and I do really like these). The rest feel like they too often cross the line into jaded cynicism that keeps me from really liking Tom Perrotta's books.

Others may like it more, but I only finished because it's so short.
