Sons and Lovers by D. H. Lawrence

2.0

essentially, this is a tale of boys with major mommy issues. The mother pours her whole life and soul into her sons as she hates her husband, causing the two eldest to remain terrible attached to her and utterly incapable of having meaningful relationships with any other women in their lives.

while I really got frustrated with Paul and William's inabilities to detach from their mother and angry with her for making them that way because she was unhappy with her marriage, I do like Lawrence's writing style fairly well, and was invested enough to want to know what would happen next. Overall, not high on my recommendation list.
