Attachment Theory by Kayley Loring

5.0

Kayley Loring has astonished me once again. Attachment Theory was everything I love, laughs, a swoony hero, but there was something extra special in the pages of Dylan and Scarlett’s story.

Scarlett is a single mom, a therapist, a daughter, and those things were what she was focused on, after her divorce she wasn’t sure about opening her heart again. She was sassy, but her caring nature was what truly stole my heart. Her brand of weird was a whole lotta entertaining and maybe (or a lot) relatable.

Dylan was SWOONY, (shouty caps were necessary, trust me) This man with a huge heart that had a habit of falling hard and fast for women, only to have them leave, and yet he never closed up or gave up the idea of finding the type of love his parents had found in one another.

He was charming, witty, sweet, add in his dirty talking side, you have the perfect recipe for a new favorite book boyfriend. Gosh, he was just unique, like his entire personality was just a mix of “oh, he's adorable” to “ovary exploding hotness”

The first time they met there was clearly something between them in those moments they were embedded into one another’s soul. It was insane how at first glance you would assume because of each of their pasts that they weren’t compatible, but really every side of who they were past present and future, it was like a neon sign flashing above their head that said “soulmate”

I was prepared to be hit in the feels, but I hadn’t expected for these characters' inner thoughts to at times be a reflection of my own. I love that the character’s in Loring’s books might be celebrities, yet they are all so easy to relate to.

A few words and I was immersed into the Brodie Brothers world as if I’d never left. A spellbinding blend of soul searing chemistry, a SWOONY hero, a benevolent heroine, fraught with witty banter, laughs, giggles, an array of feels, a few tears leaked out, scorching steam, and a family abounding in love with a dynamic that makes you feel like you’re a part of the Brodie family.
