This book is really tricky to rate. While reading the first half, I thought this book is bad. Like really bad. But by the end I kinda liked it?
I have two main problems with this book:
1. The way it's written. I do believe it's not only the authors fault, it seems like the translation could definitly be better. The dialogues felt very off most of the time.
2. The sexism is crazy in this book like- I like anime and I've watched a few issekais, so I know that women in this genre often get hyper sexualised. But in this book it just felt 10 times worse. Even when Haruhiro scolds Ranta for his more than a little sexist comments, Haruhiro's thoughts aren't that much better either!
So yeah, it's bad, but while these problems don't go away in the second half of the book, I could finally see the appeal.Manato's death made me honestly sad und Merry's backstory gave her a lot more depth than any other character
I believe this series has potential, so even though I have a lot of critique, I'll continue with the next book, for now.
To end this on a positive note, I think the pacing is amazing. Somehow the author knew exactly when to make timeskips and every time I thought I'd get bored with the plot, there was a little skip to a more interesting scene! It was sooo refreshing and it made the reading experience so much better!
