Constanta is transformed into a vampire bride the night her entire village dies. Left all alone, she clings to her undying husband. As time passes Constanta starts to see who Dracula truly is. With her fellow consorts they’re victims of his dark secrets. Can these blood bonds be broken? And will Constanta survive these undying days?

What an absolutely enthralling read! A Dowry of Blood is moody, foggy atmosphere itself. I cannot applaud the writing enough as I devoured this in less than 24h. With elements of horror, Gibson pulls the curtain back and shows us both the humanity and monster within a monster, a vampire.

This is not for those who struggle with dark elements. This has triggers upon triggers but if you can make your way through the darkness the characters redemption and growth is amazing.
