My Little Monster, Vol. 1 by Robico
4.0
My little Monster is way cuter than I expected based on the cover, following two friendless students that meet and share an instant yet strange connection.
The boy Haru wants desperately to be liked by others, but unintentionally scares people off with his behaviour, while the girl Shizuku has a hard time understanding emotions, remaining generally uncaring as to whether or not she has friends. The dynamic between them was slightly atypical and really adorable, with Haru content to follow Shizuku around despite being scared to go to school because of being unliked. The direction of their character arcs is already pretty clear this early on in the story, and I’m interested in following them through.
The art style was super clean and pleasing to look at; I love the roundness of the eyes and noses, which adds a lot of softness to the characters.
Can’t wait to read more!
