😬 Unfortunately, this one just didn’t hit the way the first one did. It was nice getting to read from Alex Carter again and getting to learn even more about her. However, the actual plot in this one was severely lacking in comparison to the first. I think in order to achieve even more intense thrills than she did in the first book, Henderson took things to the next level; unfortunately I think this actually backfired. The plot felt over the top and almost ridiculously impossible at points which was very distracting. Overall, it was still a solid read that I flew through, and I will continue on in the series, but I hope Henderson sticks more so to what she did in the first book.
