Charity and Sylvia: A Same-Sex Marriage in Early America
by Rachel Hope Cleves
This took me a while to read because I spent a lot of time flipping the pages to read the endnotes, but while clearly academic in some places, I think it's still pretty accessible.
I especially enjoyed knowing or having been to many of the places in Massachusetts and Vermont that are discussed in the book. A trip to visit their grave is certainly in order for me.
