My Happy Marriage, Vol. 1 by Akumi Agitogi
3.0

An absolutely stellar translation for a decently well written novel. (Note: I am a fellow Japanese translator). I'm interested to see how the author progresses with the more fantastical portions of the story.

My biggest complaint is that the romance between Miyo and Kiyoka fell a bit short for me. It felt like Kiyoka fell in love with her out of pity and wanted to spoil her purely because she made no demands of him. How can that last if he lets her grow and become her own person? Once she's no longer so biddable and willing to serve his every need, will their connection still make sense? Will he still be so in love with her when she has her own demands to make of his time and finances? This may be addressed further down the line, so I'll reserve my judgement for now.
