I just finished literally devouring Doors of Eden! As an anthropologist, I started off being a little judgmental about the evolutionary interludes. But they were compelling and beautifully written and when I figured out where Tchaikovsky was going with it, I was totally on board. What a masterful work with delightful twists and reveals along the way! The ending felt...inevitable.
