Pachinko is a story of the Japanese/ Korean conflict post WWI. It creates a somber theme to the book. I loved the main character, Sunja, but almost wish the whole book was about her. It goes on to tell the story of her children and grandchildren and we lose her a bit. A great book of an otherwise untold story.
