If you’re looking for an awesome, perfectly haunted book for Summerween or your fall TBR, pick this one!!! It’s full of family drama and suffocating ghostly presences. The whole time, I was like, “what’s more suffocating - the family or the ghosts?” And to be honest… it was a close tie between the two.

Anna joins her family on a vacation in Florence, but right off the bat you get the sense that she’s dreading the family time. She does her best to keep her head down and avoid any confrontation, but as the black sheep of the family, she’s the catch-all for any small troublesome happenings - and yet, her whole family relies on her to translate the entire vacation. That’s just a small piece of how irritating this family is.

When things start going haywire in their vacation villa, Anna is still somehow to blame, even as the family bears witness to certain happenings with their own eyes. It’s wild.

You could binge read this book in one sitting if you had the time - it’s just SO good. It’s descriptive enough that it really creeps you the F out without being remotely dense or boring. Absolutely devoured
