A mystery crime novel about a Texas Ranger trying to solve the murders of a black man and white woman in small town Texas.
I enjoyed this and it kept me hooked however I found the ending lacklustre. The racial element of the crime novel was by far the most interesting aspect and at times I genuinely forgot that it was set in 2016 making it all the more shocking. I found the character of Darren quite predictable, however. A solid read, not exceptional.
I listened to this as an audio book.
