Landline by Rainbow Rowell

Landline. I saw it at the beach in a woman's hands and awkwardly gawked at her for a few seconds before I realized that I needed to move along and well not stare at her and her pretty book that I hadn't realized came out while I was at the beach. Either or which way, I needed to have it. So after a day of getting home, to the bookstore I went and I bought this book because you know why?

I will read anything that Rainbow Rowell writes.

Seriously, I will because anything she has written makes me laugh and smile a little bit. I love her books and this was no exception. I was a little worried going into this book since it is an adult novel compared to her other works like the famous, Eleanor and Park, or Fangirl which I must say I think is my favorite of hers. But, just like those books, Landline sucked me and didn't spit me back out of the story until I was finished and smiling at the ending even if like any of her books, I wanted more.

This book was not really what I excepted it to be. Georgie and the characters were very real and all of them had a story and a past that I am so glad was explored with thoughts and of course that magical yellow landline phone in her old teenage bedroom that has since been renovated into a pug shrine. (Read the book to understand that).

The characters in this book were so dementional and great to read throughout with their quirks that Rainbow writes so well with the story of love from one decade to another, and friendship, and family.

VERDICT:
Landline was fantastic for me. I am still thinking about it weeks after I have read it. The story was fun and interesting, and also serious and thought provoking when it needed to be. It was beautifully written; Rainbow Rowell has done it again! Now, I must wait for her next book to come out whenever that may be.
