Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice by Katherine Woodfine, Jane Austen

4.0

Like Sense and Sensibility I feel that the characters in Pride and Prejudice also lost a little in translation. That’s not to say this wasn’t an incredibly enjoyable read, the plot was well adapted and Lizzy herself was excellent. It was just the supporting characters who, from the completely necessary need to leave out chunks of dialogue to make it more accessible, lost a little of their depth.

Nonetheless this was a lovely, accessible adaptation Austen’s much beloved work.
