Uncle Tom's Cabin
by Harriet Beecher Stowe
Outstanding!
Once I got used to the dialect in the first couple chapters, I breezed through this story. Ms. Stowe's characters tell the arguments for and against slavery, from the perspective of slave-owners and slaves. She keeps the drama high as the lives of several families split into separate threads.
