Nothing Left to Burn by Heather Ezell

3.0

This book is one of the few books I've ever read that has actually been close to impossible to put down. Part of that is due to the fact that I was packing for college when I read this and it was the perfect distraction, but I think no matter the situation, this book would have had me hooked. I was actually planning on getting rid of it during a book purge but decided to read a few pages--so worth it. It was an adrenaline-filled, unreliable narrator wild ride, and I burned right through it. The reason I didn't give it a higher rating is I think there were a lot of places where the quality was a bit poor and the writing felt lacking, and also (from what I remember, I'm writing this review about a year later), the ending is a bit rushed and also I felt like the relationship in the novel was complex, but more in like a "let me tell you how it's complex" way instead of an "experience it for yourself" kind of way. Overall though, an entirely engrossing book and perfect for getting you out of a slump.
