This one was even better than the first. There were even two character twists that I didn't see coming,* and lots of character development/growth everywhere else.

*Since I listened to the audiobook, I have no idea how to spell their names! I'm referring to the two new, non-monk Alanga. Lin's faster to come to conclusions in this one, even though she only figures out the identity of one of them toward the end. The other is found out by Ranami at the end. And I swear to god I'm going to hold to my threat to kick everyone if what's-his-face's group harms Mephi... OOOOH I'll be so flippin' pissed. (I also hope the monk's lil dude eventually gets set free, too.)

Anyway. I'm so stoked for the third book. April seems so far away! Ugh!
