The Hunt was great, because it was unique. Also, Fukuda's vocabulary is quite amazing and the book is really well written. His use of words was right on point and really gave a vivid image of the events that were unfolding as the plot progressed. I liked the book, although it was not really one of my favorites.

The sequel, though, is just plain boring. Frankly, I consider it a waste of time to have read this. I literally had to drag my eyes across every single page until I got to the middle of the book, hoping it would redeem itself, before I decided I could not put up with it any more - and that even took a whopping two weeks, when I could actually finish a book in one day! In between reading sections of this awfully painful book, I read books I have bought that I have not read yet.

Good thing I just borrowed this book from our library so I wouldn't have regretted buying it.

I do not recommend this book to anybody. Normally, I finish all the books in a series, but this is definitely one exception.
