The Fury by Alex Michaelides

3.0

If I could give 3.5 I would.

Surprisingly, this book was ok. I read it as part of an online book club, and I had heard some mixed reviews, so I was going into it unsure of how I would feel. I enjoyed the way it was written in the form of playwriting, which took me by surprise. I typically like an all-over-the-place writing style in a sense, as it presents itself as a puzzle I can piece together (and I love a good challenge). However, it gets a little word-salad-y, a lot of words used to say absolutely nothing. I could have done with a little less of that. I called the "who dun it" about 30% into the book, but I will admit the twists in the book, had me second-guessing to the end.
SpoilerIt became evident when the narrator began discussing his past and his bullying, that it would play a part in the ending of the book.
The narrative was dull at most points and was very unreliable, but I don't mind that trope.

This book contained the type of "crack" in which it has beautifully short chapters so it was a very quick read for me.
