I devoured this! A really brilliantly compelling POV character with such a good voice. Fantastic world-building even while ‘just’ taking place in the school, and the way the magic works and is so cleverly and carefully explained. The characters are vivid and the plot was captivating and I read it all in a few hours and then requested the sequel from the library. Loved it!
